The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

I can't believe it's already Friday!  Woo Hoo!  You know what that means sistahs....time for some fun Greeting Farm Creations.

When Marie first gave us the sneak peek of Fly Away I squealed with delight over the cute piggy with the balloons.  So I decided to use this set to make my card for this week's post.

Sky-Limit

This is probably one of my favorite single layer cards ever!  I love the look of colored pencil on Kraft card stock.  I stamped the images with PTI's Fresh Snow, then colored the images in with my Prismacolor Pencils.  Do you likey?

Well, if you are a big TGF fan, you know that our very own Marie got married over the weekend, and I was so honored to have been a guest at their beautifully intimate ceremony.  I'll definitely let her show off her wedding photos, but I just have to share this picture of the two of us together.

Marie-and-Angela

She was an absolutely stunning bride!  Such a beautiful day, and I was so honored to have been invited.

So now that I've shared my project and picture, it's time for you to check out what the other two  Greeting Farm Friday Girls have created.

Oh, and in case you missed it...{HERE} is the link to the announcement of my stint as Guest Designer for TGF.  (Don't forget to check out the newest challenge for Farm Fresh Friday.)

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Lisa!

Good Morning Sistahs!

Today is a super fabulous day in the Kitchen Sink World!  Not only are you going to be treated to a SUPER awesome Crew Challenge hosted by the ever so talented Lisa, but you are also in for a very special Kitchen Sink Treat!  But first, let's get to the challenge...

Crew-Challenge-logo

Lisa's challenge is a sketch challenge.  Oh how I love sketch challenges. *giggle  Feast your eyes on this one sistahs...
Ksssketch

...and here's what I decided to do with it:

KSSDT-Quackin

Aren't the duckies too cute?  They're from the Sink's newest set: Multi Step Ducks & Pigs.  I just couldn't resist putting these duckies in the water.  I love how it looks like they're swimming instead of standing around.  And how about that sentiment?  What's quack'n?  Too Cute!  It makes me giggle every time I see it.  I also used a small stamp from the Big & Bold Swashes set to create the bursts at the top.

Now, you all know how much I love putting glossy accents on my cards, so this card is no exception. But, rather than squeeze it on directly from the bottle, I decided to use a paintbrush and paint it on so it would give the gloss that I want, without the wait.  (I even wiggled the brush back and forth while I was applying it so you can see the texture that makes it look even more like water.) Unfortunately it didn't photograph well enough for you to see it, but trust me, it's there. *wink

Are you ready for the good news?  The release day is scheduled for tomorrow...July 7th, BUT because you are a loyal blog reader, you my sweet sistahs have first dibs on the goods. Yep, that's right, you can be the first to purchase the newest releases from Kitchen Sink Stamps.  AND for a very limited time, you can get the whole shebang...yep every set being released for 10% off...but wait...there's more!  If you use my code: ANGELA10KSS you can take an ADDITIONAL 10% off.  Holy Smokes is that a good deal!

Normally this is where I would send you off to check out all the fabulous creations made by the rest of the AMAZINGLY TALENTED Kitchen Sink Crew, but today, I'm sending you to the new releases.  After you've placed your order, come back and see what the crew has in store for you.

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's that time of the week again, yep, the one where we celebrate The Greeting Farm Friday!  A day devoted to some of my favorite stamps.  Be sure you visit Marie's blog today to find out what the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge is, then check out the Club Anya blog for a very special message.

I have to tell you just how much I LOVE the Oh Baby set!  This has to be the cutest set, so of course I had to create another card with it.  The whole time I was making this card, all I could sing was, "Rubber Ducky you're the one, you make bath time lots of fun!  Rubber Ducky you're my very best friend it's true!"

Originally I started making this card for the Single Layer challenge, but I decided to sit on it for a while before I finished it off....what do you think?

Rubber-Ducky-Front

I used the Swiss Cheese punch to create the bubbles along the bottom, then I trimmed a wave by hand.

Here's the inside:
Rubber-Ducky-Inside

Since I want to send this to a dear friend of mine with a gift card inside, I figured I'd put my Michael's Gift Card in so you can see how it looks.

Since it's hard to get a good picture of the card with the waves, I figured I'd give you a little zoom so you can get the full effect of the card.

Rubber-Duckies-Zoom

You know me, I HAD to put the Glossy Accents on the Rubber Duckies to make them look like they're made from plastic.  Well, what do you think?  You likey?

Now please blop on over and see what my partners-in-ink have created for you today.

You dropped a "Bomb" on me...

Good Morning Sistahs!

I have to tell you that I placed my first Bombshell order.  I saw these Tikis and I was so excited I could hardly wait to play with them.

I decided to play along with the Copic Creations Challenge No. 6 - Wood

BSS-Tiki-Party

I used the Tiki Party set to create this card.  The sky was created with chalks, the fire was created using Summer Sun then coloring the flames with Pumpkin Pie and Real Red markers, then the Tikis and bamboo floor were colored using Copics.

And speaking of Copics, I have to let my local sistahs know, that XPEDX on County Line & University is now carrying Copics.  They are competitively priced and you can place special orders.  They have an open stock selection that has some of the best selling colors so you definitely need to stop by and check it out.  Be sure to let them know we want them to continue carrying the markers!

Before you leave, make sure you check out today's Kitchen Sink sneak peek and leave a comment for your chance to win!

Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

Today is the day you've been waiting for!  Yes, not only is it Kitchen Sink Monday, but it's also the beginning of the Kitchen Sink Sneak Peeks.  (Say that 10 times fast. *giggle)  Since there are going to be 7 sets released, you will get 7 days of Sneak Peeks!  Yes, 7! As in one number more than six, as in the number of days in a week, as in LUCKY NUMBER 7, as in the creepy movie with Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Spacey, as in....well...you get the point.  You are going to LOVE what Maria has in store for you!  And the best part??  You can use my discount code to receive a 10% discount on the new sets! ANGELA10KSS Is that awesome or what?!

Before I give you all the details surrounding the big release on the 7th, I figure I'd better show you my creation for today.  I made this single layer card for my dear friend "B" who is far far away right now.  He's a big baseball fan, so I made this card for him.  (The baseballs are purple because our home team is the Rockies!)  I sure hope he likes it.

KSSDT-Missing-You

I used 3-Step Baseball, 3-Step Honey Bunny, and Words of Love to create this card.  I'm tellin' ya, if you don't have 3-Step Honey Bunny, what are you waiting for?  Isn't the grass just perfect?

Now here are the deets for the sneaky peekie...

Rectangle-working-June-30

Each day Maria is going to show you a little square snippet of a card made with the new sets.  You my dear friends and loyal readers, can be entered to win one of these fabulous sets.  How you ask?  Easy, just visit Maria every day and leave a comment.  She will pick the winner from the "peek" with the most comments.  So if you want to be entered, ya gotta leave a comment every day.

Now blop on over and see what the rest of the crew has created for you today:

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am that it's Friday, and not just any Friday, but The Greeting Farm Friday!  Woo Hoo!  I'm also sad to say that this will be my last Greeting Farm Friday as the June Guest Designer.  But fear not, we are all still committed to continuing The Greeting Farm Fridays beyond my Guest Designer Days.  Whew...now, let's get on with the show!!

I used the new Oh Baby set to create today's card.

It's-a-Boy

So apparently baby boys are in season; my dearest stampin' friend Leanne recently had a boy and I found out that both of my cousins are going to be having boys soon too.  So, I'm going to need a few more boy cards.

I used the CPS sketch challenge to create this card (CPS121) and I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out.  Now hurry and blop on over and check out what my fellow Greeting Farm Friday Friends have created.

Don't forget to check out the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge so you can play along and win some awesome prizes.  Stay tuned, more Greeting Farm creations coming soon!

Kitchen Sink Christmas

Good Morning Sistahs!

Does my post say Christmas? Yep, it sure does! I know it's hard to believe, but Christmas is only 6 months away.  So, if you're anything like me, you say you're going to start NOW to get a jump on all your holiday cards.  (I SAY that, but I've only ever really done it once. *giggle)

Really I just wanted to give you a heads-up about Kitchen Sink's "6 Months Before Christmas Sale."  For 3 Days only, beginning June 25th, you'll receive 15% off the ENTIRE STORE!  Yes sistahs, the ENTIRE STORE and NOT JUST the Christmas Stamps.

All you have to do to receive your 15% discount, is to enter the Promo Code: HOLLY when you check out.  It's that simple!!  And to help you remember the Promo Code, I created this cutie patootie Holly Pin for your viewing pleasure:

KSSDT-Holly-Pin

Isn't it fun?  I saw this technique while I was browsing through some fabulous posts on the Bombshell Boards.  The tutorial was given by Nicole Maki and can be found here.  I popped out a lens from a cheapie pair of reading glasses and got to work.  I absolutely LOVE the 3-Step Holly and Mistletoe set, although I will admit, it feels a little cooky digging it out in 80 degree weather.  *giggle

This pin was so super fun and easy to make.  The hardest part for me, was waiting for everything to dry.  I have the patience of a 2 year old. *giggle  Now, if I had been thinking, I would have created a card for this to be attached to; but, I was a little worried that it wouldn't turn out quite right, so I decided to just make the pin today.  (I'll create a card for it and try to post later this week.)

I know you thought the news of the sale was exciting, but...even MORE exciting news is coming.  Because you are a loyal reader here at my blog, you get to hear it first:

The Kitchen Cupboard is running out of room, so I have been authorized to let you in on a little secret; Kitchen Sink Stamps is announcing its first ever TO BE RETIRED List.  *GASP  I know!  Maria will be making a more formal announcement later this week on SCS, but The Crew has been authorized to share this news with you first.  And....I even get to tell you what is going to be retired!  Here are all EIGHT sets:

1. 3-Step Daisy (Kitchen Sink's Top Seller)

Beginning TODAY these retired sets will be grouped together in the store (paired as you see them above,) at an extra special price.  BUT...if you wait for the 25th, when the entire store's on sale, you can use the Promo Code: HOLLY and apply the 15% discount to the already discounted price and have yourself a GREAT BARGAIN!! But you have to order early, because once they're gone, they're gone.

Why the great sale?  Because The Sink is releasing, 7 new sets in July and we gotta make room.  Wow!  Is that exciting or what?!?!

Now, hurry quick and check out what our fabulous crew has created for you today:

I've got more exciting news on the way sistahs, so make sure you come back tomorrow.  Happy Monday!

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's that time of the week again...The Greeting Farm Friday!  How exciting!  Have you been by to check out the new crop of stamps?  Oh Sistahs, are they ever so cute!!  I couldn't help but use Superstar Anya for today's Friday Fun.

Fabulous

Isn't she FABULOUS?  I LOVEY the boa and the rock star sunglasses.  I've also been playing around with darker skin tones.  What do you think?  Do you likey? I decided to use jen del muro's Sketch For You To Try to showcase my Superstar.  The sentiment and background stars are from PTI's Anniversary set. (Which I also love.)

Now that you've had some fabulous fun here, blop on over to see what my Greeting Farm Friday Sistahs have created!

Once you've finished checking out their blogs, make sure you pop by Marie's Blog and find out what the new challenge for the week is.  (I can hardly wait myself.)

I hope everyone has an "absolutely fabulous" weekend! *giggle

Monday in the Kitchen

Good Morning Sistahs!

Thank you for entering my Blogaversary Giveaway last week.  I'll be posting the winner later this afternoon.

I have been wanting to make a 3x3 card box for quite a while now, so I finally decided that today is the day.  I've had the tutorial printed out and waiting ever so patiently to be used.  *wink.  I had the hardest time deciding which image to use, but I finally settled on the Gerbera Daisy from 3-Step Honey Bunny and the sentiments from 3-Step School Days.

(PLEASE forgive me for the photos, I had to take photos without my Ott Lamp or any natural light whatsoever.  Grrrr.)

Here's a photo of the box with one of the cards on top of it.

KSSDT-Gerbera-Thanks

And here's one with the cards separately.

KSSDT-3x3-Cards

I actually made 8 of these, but since I'm out of my regular photo environment, I only took a picture of 3.  These were so super fun and easy to make, especially with the EK Success Punch that adds the little dots to the scallops all in one easy step.  Yay!!  (Here's a hint, cut your paper about 1/4" larger than you need it to be, so after you punch it, it fits perfectly!)

Now, my sistahs, I have some very sad news...the truly talented, wonderfully amazing and uncontestedly creative Tammy is posting for the last time as a Kitchen Sink Crew Member.  <insert sad face here>  So when you blop on over to check out her blog today, please give her your well wishes and let her know just how much she'll be missed on Mondays.  She has been a great source of inspiration to us all, and I know Mondays won't be the same without her.
