What's a treasure hunt without a pot-o-gold?

 

I used the coins from the Multi Step Hanukkah set to fill my pot-o-gold.  (Stamped in order: 1-Barely Banana, 2-Apricot Appeal, 3-Summer Sun, 4-More Mustard.)  Then I used the lines from the Playful frames and Journaling set to create my rainbow.  The shamrocks along the bottom were stamped with the Multi Step Shamrocks & Clovers set (1-Certainly Celery, 2-Wild Wasabi, 3-Garden Green,) and the sentiment is from the Simple Sentiments Set.

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday and Color Throwdown Challenge

Good Morning Sistahs!

Happy Monday!  I am so excited to announce that this Wednesday March 19th, Kitchen Sink is going to be sponsoring Color Throwdown Challenge #83!  Woo Hoo!  Our very own Tammy is the host over at The Color Throwdown and we are so excited to play along.  The colors she picked for this next challenge are: 

Marigold Morning, Wild Wasabi, Bermuda Bay, and Melon Mambo

Here's my take on the challenge....and a challenge it was....

 

With all the Alice in Wonderland excitement buzzing around, I figured I'd follow that rabbit down his psychedelic rabbit hole...oh and create a belated birthday card at the same time.  *giggle  I used my all-time favorite KSS Set: 3-Step Honey Bunny.  I stamped each bunny using only 1 color, so for the first bunny I used Marigold Morning and stamped it off for steps 1, 2, and 3...but...for step 4 I just inked it up and stamped giving the bunny his richer details.  (See how easy it is to use these stamps even if you don't have a ton of colors?)  I followed the same recipe for the rest of the bunnies except I just switched from Marigold Morning to Melon Mambo and finally Bermuda Bay.  For the grass....I stuck to my traditional recipe: Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green.

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

I know it's been a while since I've had a Greeting Farm Friday project to share with you...but it is of course a very special card.  My dear friend Carisa is now past her due date with her precious baby boy, and I figured he didn't want to make his appearance until his very own card was posted and ready to go.  I have had this card FOREVER, and when I went to her baby shower, I managed to leave the card at home.  I have been promising to post it, but wanted to wait until The Greeting Farm officially released it for sale.  So here we are...in all it's glory...Oliver from the Oliver & Amelia - Oh Happy Day set.  

 

All the cardstock is Bazzill and I'm SO SORRY I don't know the names of all the colors.  I'll try to be better next time. *giggle.  The DP is something I found at Archiver's and I can't remember who makes it either.  (Wow...I'm really letting you all down today aren't I?)  Sorry.

Well Carisa, now you can have that baby boy!

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Connie!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's supposed to be cold and snowy today here in Colorado, so I hope everyone is staying nice and warm where ever you are!  There are SO MANY fun and wonderful things going on in the Kitchen this month!  First, I need to give a giant HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tammy Hershberger, she's not only celebrating a birthday today, but she's also guest designing for us during the month of March!  Woo Hoo!  How lucky are we to have her back in the Kitchen?

Second, because it's the first Monday of the month, we also have Connie's Crew Challenge!  Holy Smokes is this going to be a fabulous month!!!

 

Connie's challenge is to have us do some MASKING!  Yep, masking is the perfect way to layer Kitchen Sink's fabulous images.  I personally LOVE to mask using a Post-it note, but I'm sure there are several ways to achieve this flawless look.  If you're so inclined...please share your tips!  

Here's my take on the challenge using Multi Step Little Lambs; a brand new set from tomorrow's release:

 

This set coordinates well with Hey Chick!, Ducks & Pigs, Kittens & Pups, Autumn Squirrel, and my all-time favorite, Honey Bunny.  

I decided to us a monochromatic theme here because I just KNOW these little lambs are blue from "missing ewe." *giggle.  Because I went with all blue, the recipe here is actually quite easy...Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 were all done using Bashful Blue.  Then, finally, Step 5 was done using Ballet Blue a few times.  Aren't they the cutest sad lambs you've ever seen?  *giggle

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

Good Morning Sistahs!

You would not believe what I have been through for this card.  OMG!  Lesson learned: Don't take your camera to school and leave it there when you know you haven't taken a picture of the card you need to post in the morning.  Seriously?!?!  How could I forget?  So...I'll apologize for the blurry image, and repost as soon as I get my camera and snag a good photo.  What a dork I am...geez!

So, here's my take on the challenge for February's Hump Day Hop:

Mama Said Knock You Out!

No physical violence here, just time to dust off your PUNCHES and use your NESTIES (QuicKutz, Sizzix, Big Shot etc.) to create your next Bombshell Masterpiece! We all have some fun punches and cutting shapes lying around, so why not use these valuable items and get our money's worth? All you have to do, is make sure something on your card has been punched or die cut....extra credit if there's a hole in your card. *giggle Don't make Mama mad....just start knockin' things out. *wink

As you can see, I got a little carried away with my Nesties.  I've been wanting to make a masculine card for my uncle, and the Speed Shop set fits the job perfectly!

I colored the car with my Copics: B0000, B000, B21, B23, B24....BINGO!  (Sorry couldn't help myself. *giggle)  Then I used C0, C3, C5, C7 for the chrome-ish bumper.  Then I cut every thing out with my petite oval nesties and even put a hole in the card where you see the Happy Birthday hiding.  It's hard to see in the photo, (hopefully the next one will be better,) but I put Glossy Accents on the windows and headlights of the car for a little extra umph.  Whew!

Doing Double Duty!

Good Morning Sistahs!

I'm pullin' double duty today!  It is SUCH AN HONOR to have Jessica ask me to host Monday Mania over at the Club Anya & Friends Blog.  How flippin' exciting is that?!?!  So, without further ado, I bring you the Monday Mania Challenge:

Yep, you guessed it; it's time for a monochromatic challenge.  Take your favorite image and give it some one-color love.  Feeling Blue?  Tickled Pink?  Makes no difference, just make sure you create a card or project using one color family.  Ready, Set, Go!

I absolutely LOVE the new Cheeky Collection, and how could I not?  I mean, really!  I decided to color the Cheeky Cherry Shooter using Sepia tones.  Isn't she too adorable?

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!

I decided to use 3 Step Butterflies for today's card:

I love making acetate cards, but they're so hard to photograph.  Grrrrr. So here's another photo of just the butterfly.  As you can see, I stamped the image then used acetate to create wings popped off the original stamped image.

  

And finally, a picture of the card closed...or as closed as it could get without showing my fingers holding it up.  

Ahhh...I just LOVE this set!

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

Welcome to another fabulous week of Kitchen Sink goodness!  This week I decided to pull out the Multi Step Baby set.  My friends seem to be having babies left and right, so I figured I'd better make some of these to have on hand.  

 

For the Shoes I used:
Step 1: Pink Pirouette
Step 2: Pretty In Pink
Step 3: Regal Rose
and Step 4: Rose Red

The DP all comes from the Basic Grey Sultry line.  Isn't it the cutest?  And what's a baby girl card without bling?  I know...I just couldn't help myself.

It has been quite a while since I've played along with Taylor's Sketch Challenge, so I decided to tie her challenge in with my card for Kitchen Sink Monday.  After much deliberation, I decided to use 3 Step School Days for my project.  This set lends itself well to to teachers and students alike.  

 

Ruler: Step 1 - Creamy Caramel Stamped off
Step 2 - Creamy Caramel
Step 3 - Chocolate Chip

Books: Step 1 - Soft Sky
Step 2 - Baja Breeze
Step 3 - Buckaroo Blue

Apple: Step 1 - Pink Pirouette
Step 2 - Pretty In Pink
Step 3 - Rose Red
Step 4 - Riding Hood Red

It After I finished stamping the apple, I couldn't help but add some Glossy Accents to it to give it a little extra shine.  I had almost forgotten how much fun this set can be....and such a great font too!

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Makiko!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's the first Monday in February...and you know what that means!  Yep, the Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge is here.  This month's hostess with the mostess is the wickedly talented Makiko.

 

Makiko's challenge is to create your own DP using Kitchen Sink Stamps. 

I decided to use Beate's tutorial for a Treat Bag Cover for this month's challenge.  Here's what it looks like empty.  

 

I couldn't resist using the 3 Step Hearts to decorate the middle of the window.  I also used the words from the 3 Step Letter from the Past, and created my "My Valentine" sentiment from the Words of Love set.

I used a Martha Steward edge punch on the front flap, and my Nesties to create a peek-a-boo window for the Hugs & Kisses.

Just 25 more and my Valentines for the kiddos in my class will be complete.  *giggle
