Good Morning Sistahs!

I have to tell you that I had so much stinkin' fun on Saturday at The Greeting Farm's debut at Scrapbook Destination!  TGF's very own Marie was there hanging out with us having a good time.  We laughed so hard that I'm surprised my side wasn't sore the next morning.  *giggle  And don't even get me started about the "Charlie" incident.  (Which of course could never be as funny as it was for those of us who were actually there to witness it.)

Any who...while we were there we all busted out our Copic markers and had a grand ol' time! I never get as much done at a crop as I had hoped to, so I went prepared with a few images pre-colored.  Since I envisioned Geisha Anya with black hair, I decided to finally figure out how in the heck to do it without making it look like a black helmet. *giggle

How do you think I did?

Not bad for my first try huh?  I am so excited about my new found hair talent. *giggle

The letters for the Arigato came from PTI's Fresh Alphabet.  I know it's a little hard to tell from the photo, but the flower in her hair is popped up and is covered with glitter. The flowers and cuffs on Anya's robe are also covered with Glossy Accents, (is anyone surprised?)  I struggled a little with this one and finally decided to add the paper flowers and call it good.

Do you wanna know how I made the black hair?  You do?! Oh goodie, because Marie asked if I would create a tutorial for this super easy technique.  Please stay tuned while I figure out how I'm going to manage it. *giggle

Alright sistahs, it's been fun, but now I'm off to color more images so I can get some things off my to-do list.

Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's Monday morning again, and that means it's time to have fun in the sink.  Let me tell you, there are some fun things happening in these parts too! *giggle  Here's my card for today.

I have been wanting to open up my 3-Step Daisy set since I got it, but didn't have time until now.  I wanted to keep today's card simple because I have quite a few to make.  These are going to have to go into the mail, so I tried to keep it as flat as possible.  I scored the Barely Banana background with my Scor-pal to create a grid. Oh, and of course no card is complete without the Glossy Accents...see it there, right in the middle?

Anya Party Tomorrow

Good Afternoon Sistahs!

It has been quite a busy week, and this is just a reminder to all my Colorado Sistahs that Saturday is The Greeting Farm's release party at Scrapbook Destination!  Woo Hoo!  Finally!  (No snow is predicted for the weekend. Whew!)

So to get you ready for the big day, I wanted to share my Mermaid Anya creation with you:

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Maria!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's Monday and you know what that means!! It's time for another Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge.  Woo Hoo!

Maria's Challenge: Alter/Stamp a Rolodex or Recipe Card

Well, anyone who knows me, knows that I don't cook...so stampin' on a Recipe Card was plenty of a challenge for me!  I decided to create a card for one of my favorite treats:

I used the pineapple from the 3-Step Aloha set, the journaling lines came from the Playful Frames & Journaling set, the words & monogram came from the Mix it Up! Monogram & Alphabet set, and finally the circle behind the monogram came from the Pretty Petals set.  Whew...that was quite a bit o' stampin'.

Now don't forget to play along with us!  Pull out one of your trusty recipes and doll it up so you can pass it on to a good friend.  Wouldn't you love getting a personalized recipe card from a good friend?  Or how about taking some of these fabulous cards to your next potluck along with your favorite dish?  The possibilities are endless.

Club Anya is HOPPIN'

Good Evening Sistahs!

How incredibly awesome is this?  Club Anya's First Ever Blog HOP and I'm a part of it!  Woo Hoo!  I couldn't go hoppin' without this adorable Easter Anya, so I saved her up especially for the HOP. 

*Sorry for the glare on the card, but I unfortunately have been away from the comfort of my own stampin' space, so I had to improvise.  

Anya was colored with my Copics and then layered on top of some ovals cut out with my Nesties.  This image was SO FUN to color and add glitter and glossy accents to.  (And you know how I LOVE my Glossy Accents!)  It's all layered upon an acetate card base.  What do you think?  Cute?  I made it for a dear friend who delicately asked for an Easter Card...or else! *giggle

Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

I know that I usually have my post up sooner, but this weekend has been CRAZY and I have been without internet.  GASP!  I know!  So, I had to wait until I could make it to work...sssshhhhhh...it's a secret. *wink

So, without further ado I give you my super quick 3x3 card:

What's that I hear?  You don't recognize this set? Is this really Kitchen Sink?  The answer my dear sistahs is, YES!  Isn't that too cute?  It's from the Pretty Petals set.  These were supposed to be petals for a flower I suppose, but every chance I get, I like to find different uses for such fun sets.  So how could I not change them to Surf Boards?  I couldn't find my Glossy Accents before I took the photo, so please pretend like the surfboards are ultra glossy. *giggle

I colored him with colored pencils.  Not watercolor pencils, just plain old colored pencils.  He was also created for Colorado Challenge #3. We were supposed to use Kraft, Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery and Bling.  Woo Hoo!  How do you think I did?  Is it Groovy-licious?

Kitchen Sink Guest Challenge with Makiko

Good Morning Sistahs!

It is hard to believe it's Monday again already.  I hope everyone was able to get their entries in for Tammy's ATC Challenge.  Make sure you pop on over and vote for your favorite!  

This week's challenge is being hosted by the very talented Makiko!  She gave us this challenge:

Make a card using monochromatic colors, and for a little extra fun, add dimensionals or pop dots.  

I have affectionately dubbed this challenge: Mono + Pop.  *giggle  Now, I thought about adding some greens to this card, but decided to stay true to the Monochromatic rule and created a card using various shades of pink.  Even the paper is part of my monochromatic project.  No Whisper White here.

Well...wadda ya think?  Did I manage to stay true to the challenge?  I used three different Kitchen Sink Sets for this card: 3-Step Honey Bunny, 3-Step Butterflies, & Multi-Step Tulip Garden.  I only used 4 colors of ink too: Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Regal Rose and Rose Red.  The paper is Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, and Regal Rose.  The ribbon is Pretty In Pink and the rhinestones are pink too.  Whew, if I didn't know any better, I'd think I was inspired by Pepto-Bismol.  *wink

Colorado Challenge #2

Good Afternoon Sistahs!

We were supposed to get a ton of snow here this weekend, and all we got was a light dusting.  Hmph! But, because there were so many other things going on that happened to get postponed, I decided to take it easy and stay in and stamp.  Not only did I stamp...but I spent a great majority of my day with my BFF.  We hit some LSSs, had a nice lunch, got a little inky, and watched girlie movies.  Ahhhhh...

So, I finally got around to making a card for the Colorado Challenge over on Stamp TV.  Lee challenged us to create a card using Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Pacific Point & Whisper White.  Now, this truly is a challenge for me because I'm not the biggest fan of putting Red & Pink together, but incorporating the Pacific Point was the hardest task for me.  I was ready to throw in the towel when I saw {this card} from an AMAZING...and I do mean AMAZING talent...WickedPixie.  Holy smokes can this gal color.  

I'm generally not in the business of C.A.S.E.ing, but I thought this was the perfect layout for the challenge so I C.A.S.E.d away.

  

Holy Layers Batman!  *giggle  The image is from The Greeting Farm's set Pretty Hat and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Set Everyday Classics.  I know it's a little hard to see, but I used Glossy Accents on the birdie wings, and beak.  I stamped the sentiment on the white card stock before I ran it through my Cuttle Bug.  

As I was linking everything, I saw that queenjolene had already posted Colorado Challenge #3.  Maybe I can get this next one done before the following one gets posted.  *giggle

Just Call My Name...

Good Morning Sistahs!

Can you believe it's Friday already?  I know I can't.  I have been buried under piles of books and I finally had time to come up for air...errrr...ink.  *giggle  Well, I just had to play along with The Greeting Farm's contest: Don't Be A Square.  For all the details go {here}.

I recently picked up the set Forest Friends because they are so flippin' CUTE!  How could I not ink up the owl and put him on a card?  I mean seriously!! Well, the sentiment that goes along with the owl is: Owl be there.  So of course I've been singing the Jackson 5, "Just call my naaaame, and Owl Be There."  Woosh....I must be on a song bird kick.  First Bob Marley & now the Jackson Five.  (Where will I go next?) *giggle

Since my little owl buddy couldn't be square, I decided to put him inside some scalloped circles to make it look like we're peeking at him in a tree. How do you think I did?

 

I ran the scallops through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder to give the tree a little texture then I colored my fine feathered friend with Copics, cut him out, and placed him inside a second scalloped circle.  And there you have it...a cutie patootie owl for you to enjoy.  I know he seems a little simple, but sometimes you just gotta leave things well enough alone...or at least I'd like to think so. *giggle

Stay tuned over the weekend my sistahs, rumor has it that we have a big snow storm coming in tomorrow, so I might be stranded at home with my ink 'n paper.  Bwahahahahaha (*evil laugh)
