Today is a fun and wonderful day! There has been so much excitement buzzing around with the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's event kicking-off today! Woo Hoo! So the Kitchen Sink Crew has created a special challenge just for the event! Here are the deets:
"Remembering Someone You Love" by creating a card, project or scrapbookpage...
- Remembering a loved one who is far away
- Remembering someone you love depicted at a younger age
- In memory of someone you love
It's not necessary to use Kitchen Sink Stamps to enter the challenge...but if you'd like to, that would be lovely too!
Deadline for the challenge is May 31st midnight EST. One lucky number will be chosen by a random generated number to win...

Here's the story behind it...
This bookmark is in memory of my Grandfather. He was such a wonderful and amazing man! I was the only granddaughter for 14 years, so I was his favorite. We would spend our days watching game shows and would try our best to guess the right door on "Let's Make A Deal." On very special days, we would head out to our favorite restaurant for lunch and share an Italian Sausage Sandwich. The name of the restaurant is Pass Key. (Hence the keys.*giggle)
The quote on the bookmark comes from one of my favorite children's books; Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox. It reads, "A MEMORY is something from long ago."
It's a beautiful tale about a young boy who lives next door to an "old folks home." Wilfrid's favorite resident, Nancy Alison Delacourt Cooper, has lost her memory and he's going to help her find it. So he begins to ask the other residents if they can help him figure out what a memory is. He receives many wonderful answers:
Something from long ago
Something that makes you laugh
Something warm
Something that makes you cry
Something as precious as gold
Wilfrid then goes home and starts collecting items for Nancy that fit these descriptions. You'll have to read it to find out what he brings her, but I can almost guarantee you won't have a dry eye by the time you're done with it. This is a beautiful book, which I felt was incredibly appropriate for today's celebrations.

Angela this is so special!! I love your keys and the beautiful ribbon and the way you included the quote!! We love Mem Fox but I've never read that one - will have to check it out!! :)
