This week completely got away from me.  I started school again last week, and all the homework and projects I've had due have thrown me for a loop.  Since I've been so busy with the Greeting Farm Blog Hop tomorrow, I'm going to share some cards I made for graduation a little while back.

A friend of mine asks for cards for her graduating seniors every year, and this year, I decided to use Anya and Ian for each of their cards.  The school colors are black and gold, so I was able to practice my coloring using the gray tones.  How do you think I did?

I used scallops behind the girls, and just a plain ol' oval for the guys.

Joyful Monday

Good Morning Sistahs!

I hope this Monday Morning finds you well.  I have to say, I'm recovering from my trip...errr...walking mishap rather well.  I managed to stamp with very little pain this weekend....oh the things we do for love. *giggle  Now, enough of the update, on with the show...

I created this card using an emboss resist technique.  (I'm sure it has a fancier name, but for now I think this'll do.) *wink  

I started by stamping the script from 3-Step Letters From The Past in Cotton Candy.  Then, I stamped the flower using Multi-Step Tulip Garden and the grass from the 3-Step Honey Bunny set.  Both were stamped over the words using VersaMark and then clear embossed.  Once I heat set the images, I took a cotton ball, (yes a cotton ball, because I couldn't find any sponges,) and dabbed ink over the image to make it pop and also give it some dimension.  Then, I used a sentiment from the Words of Comfort & Joy set.  

I have forgotten how fun vellum can be!  I wasn't quite sure how a sentiment was going to work with this particular card, but once I pulled out the vellum, I knew it was meant to be. *giggle  What do you think?

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

I have no idea where this week has gone!  Well, actually I do....I spent the better part of my week visiting doctors because apparently walking is a skill I still have not mastered.  *giggle  I totally took a digger and have managed to sprain my ankle and tear some tendons in my wrist.  How's that for graceful?  But did that stop me from getting my Greeting Farm Friday creation ready for you?  Heck no!  It's going to take a little more than kissin' a sidewalk for me to miss out on some Greeting Farm Love.  So here is my creation for the week.

 

This is Navajo Anya from the July 15th release.  Isn't she adorable?  As soon as I saw her, I KNEW I wanted to create a rug to go behind her.  I used one of the newest EK Success punches to create the rug.  Once I punched my scraps, I layered them on top of each other and voila instant rug.  Well....what do you think?

A Berry Sweet Monday

Good Morning Sistahs!

As promised, I have some sweet berries for you today.  From the moment I laid my eyes on the Multi-Step Berries set, I fell in love with it. *giggle  I abso-smurfly LOVE them.  They are just too adorable.  So I FINALLY had time to play around with them, and here's what I came up with:

I used Taylor's Cupcake Sketch Challenge for this week's inspiration.  (She has been moving across the country and Friday was her first week back with the challenge.  Whew...I'm glad she's arrived safe and sound, and is back to inspiring us with her sketches.)

Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!  

Where is July going?  I mean seriously...we're almost halfway through the month!  Can you believe it?  But the good news is...we're here for yet another Monday Monday Monday with the Sink!  I decided that too many of my friends are having babies for me to just make a card as they share their good news.  It is now time for me to start keeping a few of these babies on hand.  

Nice and simple so the postal machines don't get upset with me about too many layers, being to bulky or weighing too much.  But, because not everyone is lucky enough to have boys, *giggle I decided I'd better make a few girl ones too....

Awwww, aren't those shoes the absolute cutest?  They came from one of the newest Kitchen Sink Sets: Multi-Step Baby.  I absolutely LOVE this set.  Not only are there cutie patootie shoes, but there's a spoon, a sippy cup, some fabulous sentiments and some building blocks.  This set is a MUST HAVE for any stamper.

I also don't want you to forget, there's plenty of time left to play along with Lisa's sketch challenge!

Tuesday Morning Sketch

Good Morning Sistahs!

I have two posts today!  Wow!  I'm on a roll right?  *giggle  Well, my dear friend Karinabella sent me an e-mail last week telling me that her sister Melissa was starting her very own sketch challenge blog, and she wanted me to check it out.  Um...hello...sketch challenge??  You've got it sistah!  Oh how I LOVE sketch challenges!  

Here is her first ever sketch:

Well, as soon as I saw this sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to do....

 

I totally envisioned my newest Bombshell "Hawaiian Girl," on a beach with surfboards behind her.  So super cute right?  Here's a close up of the surfboards, I covered them with Glossy Accents to make them look like they've been waxed up and are ready to go.

I used sandpaper to create the beach, and my new EK Success Wave punch to create the water in the background.  Isn't it the funnest?

Can you see how things are layered?  Even the Aloha is popped up. *giggle

Good Morning Sistahs!

I can't believe it's already Friday!  Woo Hoo!  You know what that means sistahs....time for some fun Greeting Farm Creations.

When Marie first gave us the sneak peek of Fly Away I squealed with delight over the cute piggy with the balloons.  So I decided to use this set to make my card for this week's post.

This is probably one of my favorite single layer cards ever!  I love the look of colored pencil on Kraft card stock.  I stamped the images with PTI's Fresh Snow, then colored the images in with my Prismacolor Pencils.  Do you likey?

Well, if you are a big TGF fan, you know that our very own Marie got married over the weekend, and I was so honored to have been a guest at their beautifully intimate ceremony.  I'll definitely let her show off her wedding photos, but I just have to share this picture of the two of us together.

She was an absolutely stunning bride!  Such a beautiful day, and I was so honored to have been invited.

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Lisa!

Good Morning Sistahs!

Today is a super fabulous day in the Kitchen Sink World!  Not only are you going to be treated to a SUPER awesome Crew Challenge hosted by the ever so talented Lisa, but you are also in for a very special Kitchen Sink Treat!  But first, let's get to the challenge...

Lisa's challenge is a sketch challenge.  Oh how I love sketch challenges. *giggle  Feast your eyes on this one sistahs...

 

...and here's what I decided to do with it:

Aren't the duckies too cute?  They're from the Sink's newest set: Multi Step Ducks & Pigs.  I just couldn't resist putting these duckies in the water.  I love how it looks like they're swimming instead of standing around.  And how about that sentiment?  What's quack'n?  Too Cute!  It makes me giggle every time I see it.  I also used a small stamp from the Big & Bold Swashes set to create the bursts at the top.

Now, you all know how much I love putting glossy accents on my cards, so this card is no exception. But, rather than squeeze it on directly from the bottle, I decided to use a paintbrush and paint it on so it would give the gloss that I want, without the wait.  (I even wiggled the brush back and forth while I was applying it so you can see the texture that makes it look even more like water.) Unfortunately it didn't photograph well enough for you to see it, but trust me, it's there. *wink

The Greeting Farm Friday

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's that time of the week again, yep, the one where we celebrate The Greeting Farm Friday!  A day devoted to some of my favorite stamps.  Be sure you visit Marie's blog today to find out what the Farm Fresh Friday Challenge is, then check out the Club Anya blog for a very special message.

I have to tell you just how much I LOVE the Oh Baby set!  This has to be the cutest set, so of course I had to create another card with it.  The whole time I was making this card, all I could sing was, "Rubber Ducky you're the one, you make bath time lots of fun!  Rubber Ducky you're my very best friend it's true!"

Originally I started making this card for the Single Layer challenge, but I decided to sit on it for a while before I finished it off....what do you think?

I used the Swiss Cheese punch to create the bubbles along the bottom, then I trimmed a wave by hand.

Since I want to send this to a dear friend of mine with a gift card inside, I figured I'd put my Michael's Gift Card in so you can see how it looks.

Since it's hard to get a good picture of the card with the waves, I figured I'd give you a little zoom so you can get the full effect of the card.

You know me, I HAD to put the Glossy Accents on the Rubber Duckies to make them look like they're made from plastic.  Well, what do you think?  You likey?
