It seems like it's been forever since we've hopped, but let me tell you....THIS is a FABULOUS hop we have lined up for you!  This month's challenge was super fun, and definitely took me out of my comfort zone.

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

We all have our own home remedies...a pinch of this, with a dash of that and gargle. *giggle Well, it's time to put your thinkin' caps on, and ALTER an item you have laying around. That's right...don't be content with that over the counter crafting stuff...take something you have and give it a little bit of TLC; a pinch of this glitter and a splash of that alcohol ink. (Hopefully you won't have to gargle....*wink) Let your imaginations run wild as you use your Bombshells to breathe new life into an otherwise boring item.

And boring my item was!  I found these awesome clipboards at Archiver's in the Hot Spot for $1.99.  So inexpensive, how could I pass it up?  Well, here's what it looks like "all dolled up!"

As I was coloring this Bombshell Beauty, from the Butterfly Queen set, I kept hearing Jessica Rabbit's voice saying, "I'm not bad; I'm just drawn that way."  Who am I to not listen?  So I used some glittery letters to adorn the side of this clipboard so everyone can share in my thoughts. *giggle

Happy Kitchen Sink Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

Is it just me, or is anyone else sitting at home wishing they were at CHA too?  I can only imagine how much fun all my crafty peeps are having. *giggle  Some day.....

But, until that day, there is work to be done in the Kitchen.

One thing I absolutely LOVE about Kitchen Sink Stamps is that you can get a perfect silhouette when you stamp with Step 1 of just about any set.  I decided that I wanted to give it a try with the newest release Multi Step Winter Cardinals.  What do you think?

I had the absolute pleasure of having dinner the other night with some of the best friends a girl could have.  Do you want to know the best part?  It was their treat.  So, what's a girl to do, but prepare a card for the two of them to express my undying gratitude.  I didn't want to make it uber-girly since it is for the couple, so I tried to keep it simple.  

The cardinals are both Step 1 of the two separate birds you get with this fabulous set, and their perches are from the ever popular Multi Step Owl & Autumn Moon.  I love the simplicity of the red silhouettes.  I just may have to try it out again. *giggle  The sentiment is from the new mini set Simple Sentiments.  I used three separate punches to create the donut hole you see, then popped up the sentiment with the help of some pop dots.

Monday in the Kitchen!

Good Morning Sistahs, 

It's another beautiful Monday in the Kitchen.  Are you loving the new releases as much as I am?  I have had the hardest time putting down the Multi Step Cup of Warm Comfort.  So here is another card I made using this fabulous set.  Do you think I'm ready for Spring?

Sneaky Peekie

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's Kitchen Sink Monday, and rather than show you my whole project, we have decided to give you a Sneaky Peekie.  Yep, that's right, we're just gonna give you a peekie of what is to come tomorrow.  Maria has been busy remodeling the Kitchen, so you are all going to be in for a real treat!  We have some new stamp sets being released tomorrow....and since we LOVE our loyal blog readers, there will be an extra special treat just for you.  In the mean time, here is my sneaky peekie of what's to come:

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge with Lisa!

Happy New Year Sistahs!

Wow!  Is it just me, or did 2009 fly by?  (I certainly hope 2010 takes its time.) *giggle  Well....it's the first Monday of the month, so that means.....It's Crew Challenge Time!  (Insert cheers and applause!)  

 

 

Lisa is our hostess with the mostess...and her challenge is: STITCH IN TIME.  Use stitching anywhere on your card or project.

Now sistahs, I know you may find this hard to believe, but....I don't own a sewing machine. *gasp  I know...so please keep that in mind as you view my card for today.  It's not because I don't want to own one, because I would very much like to, but I just can't justify buying a sewing machine if all I really want to do is sew paper.  And let's be honest, can I really afford to take on another craft...(like sewing or quilting,) right now?  If I did, I think I could justify the purchase to myself. *giggle

So here's my project:

Rose Recipe: Step 1: Pretty In Pink, Step 2: Regal Rose, Step 3: Rose Red, Step 4: Riding Hood Red

Leaf Recipe: Step 1: Certainly Celery, Step 2: Wild Wasabi, Step 3: Garden Green

First I stamped the rose from the 3-Step Hearts & Roses set , next I stamped the word Love from the set Words of Love.  Then I went old school....(read here, I stitched everything by hand.) *giggle and did a simple backstitch over the stamped "love" with two single strands of embroidery floss and a needle.  After I attached the main image to the white panel, I carefully stitched a long side the image using a running stitch.  I love the way the floss looks over the word, it adds just enough dimension, but won't cost extra to mail it.
