In Need of Thanks!

Good Afternoon Sistahs!

How on EARTH did I let today slip my mind?  I have been making Thank You Cards like a CRAZY woman these past few weeks because I had so many thoughtful people wish me well on my graduation.  So...I needed to come up with another FLAT card so I could mail it out.  I used a sketch I found from Waltzing Mouse, but I couldn't enter their challenge because I didn't use their stamps.  Which is okay with me, but I wanted to give them credit for the layout.

What do you think?

The paper is from October Afternoon and I thought it looked like an old fashioned quilt and figured that reminded me enough of Berry Picking to use it on this card.  I LOVE the way it turned out.  I can definitely see myself making more of these.  I did some assembly line stamping and they surprisingly weren't that difficult to make.

Strawberries: Step 1 - Pretty in Pink, Step 2 - Regal Rose, Step 3 - Rose Red, Step 4 - Riding Hood Red.
Blueberries: Step 1 - Brocade Blue (Stamped off), Step 2 - Brocade Blue, Step 3 - Ballet Blue, Step 4 - Night of Navy
Blackberries: Step 1 - Elegant Eggplant (stamped off 2x), Step 2 - Perfect Plum, Step 3 - Elegant Eggplant.

Happy Monday!

Good Morning Sistahs!

The school year is winding down and I can't believe it's almost over.  We have field day on Friday and the kiddos are so stinkin' excited!  I have some other fun news too, my cousin called to share some good news with me!  She was married last weekend on a beach in Hawaii.  Doesn't that just sound gorgeous??  I am playing around with some ideas for some Thank You cards for her to send out to guests when she's showered with gifts here in Colorado.  She is coming home from Hawaii for a visit in a few weeks and I'd love to have them ready for her when she gets here.

I used 3 Step Aloha and clear Detail Embossing Powder. I used step one of the leaf and just the word "Mahalo."  I LOVE the way it looks on Kraft Paper, but I'm thinking I might emboss the "Mahalo" in white to make it pop.  Thoughts?

Spring Fun!

Good Morning Sistahs!

    Boy oh boy has it been a busy weekend!  I finally graduated! The ceremony was this weekend and the weather was gorgeous!  This is a picture of my mom, my son, and myself at the Graduation BBQ.  (I'll post more photos soon.)

Today also marks the first day of my substitute teaching.  I'm subbing in the same class I student taught in in the fall because the teacher is going to have knee surgery.  Sooo...I decided to make a card for her to wish her well as she recovers.  (I'm also having the kids make cards for her too.)  Then when I visit her today after school, she'll have tons of fun cards ready to cheer her up.

I decided to use the 3 Step Daisy for her card along with Connie's Sketch from Friday: FSCC18.  I found some great papers from October Afternoon and decided to give mixing patterned paper a try.  I'm kinda fond of how it turned out. *grin

Monday with the Kiddos

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's another beautiful day, and I couldn't wait to share today's post with you. As you know, I have been crazy busy with graduation preparations.  Can you believe they wanted $115.00 for 25 graduation announcements?  Egad!  Well, I decided to save myself a few hundred dollars and make them myself. Woo hoo!

In the midst of graduation stuff, I managed to ALMOST forget Mother's Day.  EEK!  Well, at my school, my kids have an elective every Friday.  They are usually broken up into 5 week sessions where teachers, parents and community members come to the school and teach the kids any number of things.  For example: Fishing, Running, Soccer, Bread making, Candy  making, Dance, and even card making.  Well, Friday was my day in a Potpourri Elective since I couldn't commit to a full 5 weeks, and we made Mother's Day Cards using Kitchen Sink Stamps.  I needed a design that was quick and easy so we would have enough time for 12 kids to make their cards. 

The kids absolutely LOVED the Kitchen Sink Stamps.  They were awed by the realism of the images and were excited about how easy they were to use.  (They were also sad that they only got to make one card. *giggle)  Here they are...stampin' and embellishing away.
