Good Morning Sistahs!
I can hardly believe it's the last Monday of the month....where did my summer go? I report to the School District on August 1st for New Teacher Training, and as soon as that's over...I'm off and running with my own classroom. Wow!
Well, one of my favorite Summer Activities is going with my friends to Film on the Rocks. Here in Colorado we have a lovely amphitheater make out of glorious red rocks which overlook the city. The view is gorgeous! Several musical groups and even stand-up comedians perform at this venue, and during the summer they show movies up on the big screen.
I've gone for the past few summers with some of my dearest friends to see some fun flicks, and tonight's show is no exception: The Goonies! Yes...I'm an 80s Pop Culture Junkie, and I absolutely LOVE this movie. So, in honor of our outing, I decided to make these popcorn buckets for my friends Amy & Nik.
My intention was to fill them with M&Ms, Pop Rocks & Licorice, but...the teenage boy in my house found the snacks first...and needless to say...they are no where to be found. (That'll learn me!)
I used the set Multi Step Build a Garland to create the Popcorn on the outside of the front panel. I stamped out of order...Step 4 - More Mustard, Step 3 - Summer Sun, Step 2 - Barely Banana, Step 1 - Barely Banana. Once I stamped all the popcorn kernels, I went back in with a sponge and Summer Sun to remove as much of the white space as I could. I didn't mask anything I just let the kernels overlap in some areas and let the sponging take care of the rest.
I'm pretty sure I found these Wilton Popcorn Boxes at Michael's a while ago thinking they would make a great something or other...so glad I finally pulled them out and played with them. Since the movie is this evening, I'll try to get some photos with Amy & Nik and their goodies.
Now it's time to check out what the rest of the crew has cooked up for you:
