Good Morning Sistahs!

You would not believe what I have been through for this card.  OMG!  Lesson learned: Don't take your camera to school and leave it there when you know you haven't taken a picture of the card you need to post in the morning.  Seriously?!?!  How could I forget?  So...I'll apologize for the blurry image, and repost as soon as I get my camera and snag a good photo.  What a dork I am...geez!

So, here's my take on the challenge for February's Hump Day Hop:

Mama Said Knock You Out!

No physical violence here, just time to dust off your PUNCHES and use your NESTIES (QuicKutz, Sizzix, Big Shot etc.) to create your next Bombshell Masterpiece! We all have some fun punches and cutting shapes lying around, so why not use these valuable items and get our money's worth? All you have to do, is make sure something on your card has been punched or die cut....extra credit if there's a hole in your card. *giggle Don't make Mama mad....just start knockin' things out. *wink

As you can see, I got a little carried away with my Nesties.  I've been wanting to make a masculine card for my uncle, and the Speed Shop set fits the job perfectly!

I colored the car with my Copics: B0000, B000, B21, B23, B24....BINGO!  (Sorry couldn't help myself. *giggle)  Then I used C0, C3, C5, C7 for the chrome-ish bumper.  Then I cut every thing out with my petite oval nesties and even put a hole in the card where you see the Happy Birthday hiding.  It's hard to see in the photo, (hopefully the next one will be better,) but I put Glossy Accents on the windows and headlights of the car for a little extra umph.  Whew!

Bombshell Hump Day Hop!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It seems like it's been forever since we've hopped, but let me tell you....THIS is a FABULOUS hop we have lined up for you!  This month's challenge was super fun, and definitely took me out of my comfort zone.

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

We all have our own home remedies...a pinch of this, with a dash of that and gargle. *giggle Well, it's time to put your thinkin' caps on, and ALTER an item you have laying around. That's right...don't be content with that over the counter crafting stuff...take something you have and give it a little bit of TLC; a pinch of this glitter and a splash of that alcohol ink. (Hopefully you won't have to gargle....*wink) Let your imaginations run wild as you use your Bombshells to breathe new life into an otherwise boring item.

And boring my item was!  I found these awesome clipboards at Archiver's in the Hot Spot for $1.99.  So inexpensive, how could I pass it up?  Well, here's what it looks like "all dolled up!"

As I was coloring this Bombshell Beauty, from the Butterfly Queen set, I kept hearing Jessica Rabbit's voice saying, "I'm not bad; I'm just drawn that way."  Who am I to not listen?  So I used some glittery letters to adorn the side of this clipboard so everyone can share in my thoughts. *giggle

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's going to be a quick post today because I'm up to my ears in paperwork for school.  Grrrrrr.  Here's this week's Challenge:

Who's Got The Button?

They hold up our pants, keep our shirts closed, and yes, they even add a little extra something to our cards.  This week's challenge is to used buttons: shell buttons, faux buttons, sparkly buttons, panic buttons, (*wink) or any other type of button you please.  The more buttons the merrier!

Here's my take on the challenge:

She's lookin' a little sassy isn't she? *giggle  I used Butterfly Queen as my inspiration for this card.  I love her darker skin tone.  (Note to self, try this one again.)

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 10

Good Morning Sistahs!

Don't you just love Hump Day?  There's nothin' like some good hoppin' to get you over the hump and ready for the weekend.  This week's challenge was harder for me than I thought it was going to be. Grrrr.  But, if it were easy, it couldn't be called a challenge right?  

SINGLE LADIES

Nope, not Beyonce style...I mean layers.  You've got it, this week's challenge is to make a card using only the card base; one layer.  Use stencils, airbrush, drawings and the like; add anything that tickles your fancy except more paper.  Why should layers have all the fun?

Here's my take on the challenge using the Hawaiian Girl set:

 

I had to fight every urge I had to not add layers!  I wanted to pop the turtle up, but...that would mean more paper, which means....another layer.  I wanted to pop up the oyster, but again that would mean an extra layer.  Hmph!  So instead I chose to use my old stand by embellishment; Glossy Accents.  Woo Hoo! It didn't add as much depth as I would have liked, but it definitely made things pop. Here's a close up:

 

See how just a little bit of gloss creates another dimension of fabulousness?  (That's a technical term by the way. *giggle)  Once I was done, I waited for everything to dry then added the Glimmer Mist to give the water a sparkly texture.

Good Morning Sistahs!

I am so stinkin' excited to welcome Mary G. as Ms. November.  (Insert loud cheering and applause.)  With this great title, comes great responsibility.  Yep, you guessed it, she has to host a challenge.  I have a feeling that this challenge is going to last the whole month, because it's a good one!

Her challenge: create a card using a song (or music) as your inspiration.

Here's what I came up with:

 

Yep, I have had this Beyonce song stuck in my head for the past few days, and I just HAD to create a card using this song.  Once you see the video, you'll know what I mean.

See what I mean? I decided to use the Bombshell Angel set to recreate this fab video.  Do you think I captured the essence of Single Ladies?  I used Copics to color them in and the middle girl is popped up on foam squares to give it a little dimension.

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 8

Good Morning Sistahs!

Well, it's snowing here in beautiful Colorado, and the best part of it all?  I don't have to go to work.  Woo Hoo!  We're on fall break, and I'm glad that I'm not having to drive anywhere if I don't need to. *grin

Welcome back for another episode of the Bombshell Hump Day Hop.  Today's challenge is:

OH MARTHA!

Yep, good ol' Martha Stewart. Ya either love her or ya don't, but no matter how ya feel about her, you can always count on her for some fun crafting ideas. This week's challenge is to use her Coffin Template to create your own Coffin and do it up Bombshell Style! (The link can be found on Martha's website HERE.)

And here's what I came up with:

 

I decided to stamp images from the Sugar Skull set AND the Calavera Fiesta set.  I used some old Skull and Crossbone paper I had to line the inside of the bottom of the coffin and IMHO think it turned out smashing.  (Just to give you an idea of how big Martha's Coffin is, it is holding an entire bag of plan M&Ms.)  I embossed each image with white EP and decided to use glitter to fill in the images on the lid, and leave the calavera on the side empty.  Well....what do you think?  You likey?

Good Morning Sistahs!

Welcome to another Hump Day Hop with the Bombshell Beauties.

I Fall to Pieces

This week's challenge is to do some paper piecing. This challenge is perfect for those leftover scraps of DP that you just can't throw away. Now you can put them to good use! Instead of hoarding these precious pieces, stamp your favorite image directly onto the paper and cut it out. Voila! You have the perfect patterned paper to compliment your favorite Bombshell stamp.

Well, I decided NOT to use DP for my piecing because there was enough detail in the Madonna Woodcut set that I didn't feel the need to use it.  I instead used glitter to add details. What do you think?

 

I stamped this image 3 separate times, first on the gold cardstock, then the turquoise, and finally on white so I could color the gown and skeleton. After I cut out the gold piece, I cut out the turquoise pice for her veil and decided to add gold glitter to highlight the stars.  This was definitely a FUN challenge for me, so I hope you like what I came up with. *giggle

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 6

Good Morning Sistahs!

Before we get started, please join me in wishing my baby boy a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  He's 18 years old today and I can hardly believe it.  Where did the time go?  Seems like just yesterday he was starting Kindergarten and now we're knee deep in his senior year.  Wow!

Okay...now on with the show!

Welcome to another fabulous week of the Bombshell Hump Day Hop!  This week's challenge is a doozy!  I hope you can relate and that we inspire you to use some of your unused goodies.

What was I thinking?

We've all done it; made one of those purchases that just seem perfect in the middle of a store with a coupon in hand. Then, when you get home, you look at it and say, "What was I thinking?" Well, that's the challenge for this week. Pull out that purchase you made, and let's get it on a card and out of your stash. It might be ribbon, DP or an embellishment, but whaterver it is, get it out and use it! And if you're so inclined, share the story behind the purchase.

Here is my item that I just had to have.

The moment I saw them in the store, I just knew I was going to do something brilliant and great with them.  Then...every time I tried to pull them out and use them, they just never seemed to be right.  Well, their moment has finally come.  They made it out of the plastic and onto some cardstock.

 

I used the Sugar Skull set from the latest Bombshell release.  I absolutely LOVE Dia de los Muertos and this set is a MUST HAVE!  I colored the skulls in with my Copics and then covered the skull with holographic glitter so they look sugared. (You can see it better if you click on the image to make it larger.)  The crowns were placed on the black cardstock, and the skulls were popped up in front of them.  I just knew I would finally find a home for these fabulous crowns. *giggle

Welcome Ms. October!

Good Morning Sistahs!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.  *giggle It's also the first Hump Day Hop for the month of October, which means....(drumroll)....we get to play along with Ms. October's challenge! (Cymbals crashing!) Woo Hoo!  And what better way to kick off October, than to have a color challenge. Oh yeah.

Jacquie loves Halloween, so her challenge was to use Orange, Black, Green & Purple (optional) on this month's project. So here's what I came up with....

 

I really wanted to make the diablo red, but decided that purple would do the job just as well.  What do you think?  I found this awesome bucket at Target for $1 and the moment I brought it home, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do with it.  Well, I knew I would be using it for today's challenge anyway. *giggle  I also managed to use each and every color, right down to the M&Ms.  (*insert Happy Dance here.)

Here's a closeup of the diablo:

 

I colored him with my Copics and put Glossy Accents on his monocle and other eye.  He looks like he's about to get into some big trouble doesn't he?

Bombshell Hump Day Hop Round 3

Good Morning Sistahs!

Happy Hump Day!  I absolutely love spendin' Wednesdays with my Bombshells.  So much fun and inspiration to be shared.  We are going to have a special challenge each week, and today's challenge is one of my favorites!  

DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND

It's time to pull out your bling, glitter, and anything else that sparkles and shines. Bombshell stamps are perfect for adding a little glitz and glamor to your project. Now is NOT the time to be frugal...really make your project sparkle!

Here's my take on the challenge using the Sugar Daddy set:

I love that the wolf's pimp suit is blinged out!  Sparkles everywhere!  And I do mean EVERYWHERE! I don't think there's the tiniest bit of table that hasn't been infested with glitter. *giggle

I ended up coloring him with my Copics, then went over him with some Holographic Glitter to give him a little extra umph.  Since the Sugar Daddy stamp that comes with the set was small, I decided to write the words instead using my Signo white gel pen.  

Now it's time to blop on over and see what the rest of the Bombshell Beauties have created for you.
