Didja see the InStyle Blog today?  Huh? Huh? Didja?  

Well if you did,  you would have noticed that I made the new Design Team!  Woot Woot!  Can I tell you how flippin' excited I am?  These stamps ROCK and I get to play with them out of the comfort of my very own stamp room!  

I have been incredibly busy with a Math Project which is why I haven't posted any of my creations this week.  So, just as a reminder, I'm going to share my DT entry projects with you.  I was selected for the Anime team, but I'm gonna share the Retro line entries with you too.  (I know you've seen them already, but I love this images so much....I gotta share them again.)

Economic Stimulus

Good Morning Sistahs!

Just like I promised, here's another of my DT submissions for InStyle Stamps.  This one was so much fun making.  I knew I wanted her to be out on the town stimulating the economy.  Believe me, this one wasn't easy.  I went through about a bajillion stages trying to figure out how to get it to look like a shop window.  Lucky for you I don't have any photos of the process, you'd have cringed.  *giggle

Here's Suzie Q yet again, shoppin' her heart out.

I wanted it to look like she was looking through a window at her next purchase.  How do you think I did? There are tons of little details in this card like glittah at the top of the awning, hand cut grass along the building, and a homemade sidewalk.

Third Time's A Charm?

Good Morning Sistahs!

Look at me...posting like a rock star!  As promised, I have yet another InStyle project to share with you.  This is one of the projects I made for my first round submissions.  The InStyle DT call asked that I submit two non-card projects.  This one is the famous Roxy:

 

Isn't she so cute?  I have to tell you that this project really is a "third time's a charm."  I stamped Roxy on Shrinky Dink and colored her in with my Copics.  The first time I stamped her and colored her she came out way too dark.  You could hardly tell that had done any shading.  So I stamped her a second time, and didn't apply as much color as I did before...but, just as I was attaching her to the bracelet, I broke her leg.  DOH!  This is the third one I made and I like the way she came out.  I haven't finished this project just yet, but I thought I'd show you the early stages of it now.

ETA*** The *DIVA* sentiment is from Melanie Muenchinger's set Little Tee's found at Gina K's store. 

Here's what she looked like before she was put in the oven:

I found that the 1/8" hole punch creates the perfect size hole for adding the ring for the charm bracelet.  I also found that applying the ink in a stippling motion made for better ink coverage.  Well...what do you think?

InStyle DT Submission Round 2

Good Morning Sistahs!

As promised, here is a card I submitted to InStyle Stamps for round two of their DT call.  I always find it difficult to make good boy cards.  Isn't that the way it goes?  I have this uncontrollable urge to add, ribbon, glitter or BLING, and sometimes all three!  So when I received Jet as part of my goodie package, I knew I had to back away from the sparkles and resist temptation.

How do you think I did?

Because the DT is calling for great coloring, I tried to let that be the focus of this card.  The paper is Basic Grey and I absolutely fell in love with it the minute I saw it.  (Sorry Dars...I know you're not feelin' it.)  *giggle

Today there is supposed to be a big announcement made on the InStyle blog, so head on over to see what it is.  (I'm hoping it is more new rubbah and digital downloads.)  I believe they are going to announce the DT later this week so make sure you keep your eyes out for that too!

SFYTT & InStyle DT Entry

Good Evening Sistahs!

I have been crazy busy this week, and I can finally share a project with you!  I have been lurking around some blogs and have been wanting to try jen del muro's Sketch For You To Try (SFYTT) for quite some time now.  Well I finally made sometime to play along and decided to use one of my images from InStyle Stamps to create my card for today.

Isn't she adorable?!?!  I mean seriously.  She's one of InStyle Stamp's retro stamps and she's out there stimulating the economy.  *giggle  Saving the world one shopping trip at a time.  

Not only is Suzie Q being used for the SFYTT, but she's also one of my submissions for the InStyle Stamps Design Team call.  I was so flippin' excited to learn that I had made it to round two!  So over the next week, while I'm anxiously err...patiently waiting to see if I've made the team, I will be posting some of my submissions.  In the meantime, you should join me in the count-down by visiting InStyle's blog.  Submissions will be posted all week long with the official DT announcement being made on March 7th.

Big Head Sistahs

Good Morning Sistahs!

Thanks for coming back today!  As promised I have a card and a story.  (If you don't want to read the story, I won't be sad, just scroll down for the card.)  

So I have to tell you that my fellow crew member Nicole came out to Denver a few weeks ago and we got to meet face-to-face, or according to her mom...Big Head-to-Big Head.  *Giggle  As much as I would like to think that she was out here just to see me, she was really here to meet with fellow librarians; I was just a perk.   

I picked up Nicole and her mom Amy at their hotel and managed to hang out in traffic for a good half-hour.  (Strike One) Rather than taking them to some fancy local restaurant we went to UNO's. (Strike Two) Not doing so hot am I?  However, the conversation and the company we shared is something I will cherish forever.  We had the most wonderful time sharing stories and laughing.  It was like we had known each other all our lives and were just picking up where we left off.  

So as the meal was coming to an end, we scooted in close for a few photos.  And did I bring my camera?  NO! Of course not!  But, I did have my Blackberry Curve (which Nicole happened to have too,) and we asked Amy to take our photo with each of our phones.  This is where the true hilarity begins, because Nicole's mom had apparently recently learned how to take a picture using the Blackberry.  But when it came time to snap the picture, she looked at the phone and told us to, "Scoot back because your heads are too big." We had just stuffed ourselves with yummy pizza and dessert, and all I could think was, "No, it's not my head that's too big."  We couldn't stop laughing, so I looked like my eyes were closed in EVERY picture, then we kept moving so the pictures were blurry, and finally a good one:

We laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks!!  We are definitely soul-sistahs and I can't wait until our paths cross again.

In honor of my new Soul-Sistah I created this card:

I don't mean DIVA in the high-maintenance sort of way, I mean DIVA in the absolutely-divine-woman-who-knows-where-she's-going-and-won't-let-nothin'-stop-her-kinda-way. This stamp to me embodied the beauty of my sistah.  She sparkles and has a heart of gold.
