Good Morning Sistahs!

I am sooooo happy it's Friday! That means I'm a little bit closer to getting inky again. *giggle

Recently I saw a post from Christy Croll asking for volunteers to create a birthday card for one of her life-long friends.  I jumped at the chance...mostly because I love the idea of showering a friend with tons of cards for her very important...40th Birthday.  How cool is that??  Well...that also meant that I had to get off my rump and get to coloring.  It wasn't an easy decision, but I finally figured out what I wanted to do.  So here is my submission for Kellie's 40th Birthday.

I absolutely LOVE Mo Manning's image Angelina's Balloon...isn't she adorable?  I added the 40 to the balloons using my QuicKutz Metro set.  Once I glued the numbers down I added Glossy Accents over them.  Kellie apparently loves Black, White and Red, so I of course honored that when I chose my papers.

I certainly hope she likes it!

Aye Caramba!

Hello Sistahs!

I am so stinkin' excited to share this creation with you.  But first, let me share my woes. *giggle.  I saw this image of ROSA at Mo's Digital Pencil and knew I just HAD to have her.  So I purchased her, downloaded her, and printed her up.  I printed her on both X-Press It blending cardstock & vellum.  Originally I had hoped to color her for the Make it Colourful {Color on anything but white cardstock challenge} but ended up coloring a different image for it instead.  Anyway, I had already started coloring her and realized what an arduous task she was going to be, so I set her aside for later.  

Two weeks later...enter...Make it Colourful {Shadow & Depth Challenge}.  I decide it's time to take Rosa out, and give her another go.  Aye Aye Aye was I cursing Mo!  Mostly because she had drawn an image with so many darn ripples, and even more folds.  I was feeling very inadequate.  But...I persevered. Here is my submission for this week's Make it Colourful Challenge, AND once I saw it...I knew it would be perfect for jen del muro's February SFYTT.

I spent a night at Archiver's with my bestest friends and got close to finishing her there.  I probably spent a total of 5-6 hours coloring her.  And all the while, I learned some very valuable lessons...like...don't color on vellum unless you are a glutton for punishment. AND...don't color ROSA unless you have tons of time and an infinite amount of patience.  (Neither of which I have BTW.)  Vellum is incredibly hard to color on and is incredibly unforgiving.  You cannot use your colorless blender like you would on a regular blending surface and creating a soft shadow is near impossible.  By the end of the coloring, I had finally gotten the hang of it, but I was not a happy camper most of the time.  In the end, I LOVE how she turned out, but I don't think I'll be coloring on vellum for a long time. *giggle

Ahoy Matey!

Good Evening Sistahs!

My name is Angela...and I'm a stalker.  Yep....I have been stalking Zoe over at Make it Crafty. (Shhhhhh it's a secret!)  When I grow up, I want to color like Zoe. *giggle  She has created some FABULOUS tutorials for coloring with Copics and I am in awe.  I have been actually been playing along with the challenges each week at Make it Colourful since they began, however, I haven't had it together enough to get anything on a card.  (It's the story of my life. *giggle)  So, I was bound and determined to create something in time to get it entered into the weekly contest.  Whew!

This week's challenge was to color on anything BUT white cardstock. EEK!  I have reached a new comfort level with my coloring on white paper...and now I need to color on anything BUT white?!  Well, I thought about coloring on vellum, and even tissue paper as one of her WICKED TALENTED DT member's did, but instead, I opted for Kraft.  Yep.  What was I thinking?

I have recently acquired some new images from Mo's Digital Pencil so I decided to use Captain Hugh to tackle this challenge. What do you think?

I know it's quite simple, but when I found the water DP in my long lost stash, I couldn't bear to cover it.  Instead I decided to use it to my advantage and create a bit of a scene.  I used my Copic Airbrush system to create the sand, and even used E53 to create some footprints in the sand leading up to his look-out rock.  Next I used some Liquid Applique to create some foam lapping up on the shore.  And since I don't have an "Ahoy Matey" stamp I used my pen to write the sentiment.

And...the best news?  I actually finished it just in time to submit it!  Yay me!

It's About Time-Out

Good Evening Sistahs!

It has been quite some time since I have had the pleasure of designing a card with some of my Copic Creations.  Let me tell you...it's not because I haven't been coloring.  (Am I ridiculous or what?!?!)  Anyway...I have been fretting over this card for two weeks now...and I decided to post it and be done!  WHEW!  I used Jen del Muro's SFYTT for the month of January...and decided I should actually post it.  Novel idea huh? *giggle

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop called: Anna in Time Out.  There are several things great about this card.  First...the image.  I have a picture of me with hair EXACTLY like this.  And I'm sure none of you could imagine me being anything but an angel...but I swear Mo was there when I was a kid and drew this of me.  See...

Don't I look like I just deserve a Time-Out??  *giggle

I also created this for my Big Head Sistah...because I have been a BAD Sistah and haven't sent her goodies in too long.  So this is a special card for her which will be accompanied by some good stuff!  Yay!

So...be on the look out for the many colored images I have in my stash to make appearances soon.
